“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” John Muir
Anyone who watches me in any form knows that I am an avid outdoors person. Hike, bike, climb, paddle, swim…  Whatever form it may take, if it gets me outside I am all in. ESPECIALLY during COVID-19, I have found getting outdoors to be essential to my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Here are a few favorites and some hope-to-dos that might be a good dose of medicine to you as well.

Banks Vernonia State Trail: 21 miles of tree-lined, easy-grade bike/hike pathway through sun-dappled glades and across swift, clear streams.
Ape Canyon Hike: Secluded trail with great views of Mount St. Helens and the blast zone. Great views of the surrounding volcanoes..
Salmon River Trailhead: Mossy old growth forest next to the wild and scenic Salmon River. Chinook and Coho salmon, along with Steelhead, Rainbow and Cutthroat trout are found in the river.
Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail: Bike 12-plus miles of thrilling scenery and spectacular geologic formations.
Hoyt Arboretum: 12 miles of hiking trails. Spectacular plant collection containing 10,000 individual trees and shrubs representing approximately 1,000 species from around the world.
Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway: Over 132 miles meandering beside vineyards, along rivers, through quaint towns and agricultural vistas.
HAPPY TRAILS!  BE SAFE AND WELL.
