Yesterday my friend Arturo and I hiked Barrett Spur in the Mt. Hood Wilderness Area. Barrett Spur is the imposing mass that you can see off the left (north) side of Mt. Hood. It was an 11 mile hike with a 3100 ft. elevation gain with lots of adventure. We listened to the Coe and Ladd Glaciers crack and melt and saw a bit of ice and rock break away which is quite the sight. The wildflowers were spectacular the entire way and we had to make our way around huge masses of snow. It’s a long drive and steep hike but wow… rated difficult and dangerous so only for experienced hikers. Look for the butterflies that fly over me. ENJOY the scenery and the stats!!!
