I’ve never been a fan of make-up.  My mom gently encouraged me to wear it for years to no avail.  About 10-15 years ago,  I had a couple of TV opportunities and went to a real make-up store to invest. I still have some of that stuff and I still don’t like to wear it.  But lipstick…  well that’s different these days. That splash of color has AMAAAAZING power.

Let’s take Gwen Stefani.  Bruce and I were watching the finale of The Voice last night- love that show. Carson Daly asks Gwen Stefani her opinion on the last contestants performance. I half heard what she said because I was transfixed by her incredible RED lipstick. Wow!  Just wow!

I am here to say that lipstick isn’t just for humans.

Take a vacant home versus a staged home (i.e. House Lipstick). The difference is magical. Being the general skeptic that I am, I had to learn through personal experience. It took witnessing the transformation of my vacant, sad listing to a vibrant, staged, SELLING listing. I became a believer.

They say pictures are worth a thousand words.

You might say, the photography is crappy on the BEFORE pics and amazing on the AFTER.  Good point.  Great professional photography is the next essential accessory to this wardrobe. Here’s a BEFORE and AFTER taken by the same professional photographer.  Same effect.

 Staging works.  It is worth the money. 

The National Association of Realtors states that “the potential return on every $100 invested in staging is $400.” “Eighty-three percent of buyers’ agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.” I would say that is important.

If you see me at a holiday party in the next couple of weeks, I can’t promise eye shadow but I can promise lipstick.  Wear your lipstick proudly!!!
