I love to snow shoe Boy Scout Ridge by White River Sno Park at Mt. Hood. The climb to the Ridge is always VERY steep (especially in snow shoes) but this time the powder was so deep and unspoiled that literally every angled step I took resulted in at least half a step back. About half way up the incline, we decided that the safest and smartest plan of action was to turn around and not summit the ridge. This was a disappointment but we knew that it was the right choice.
