On Saturday May 19th, YogaBug presented the First Annual Portland Dog Boneanza on Alberta Street!!! After 5 months of planning, one incredible dog-filled day transpired full of ear-to-ear smiles, constant wags, kisses and belly laughter. Dogs and humans of all ages, shapes and sizes showed up for this celebration of our furry friends. We raised $3500 for Family Dogs New Life Shelter and are told that the money will help so many dogs!!!

The day started off with DOGA (doggie yoga) with myself and Jill Knouse at Carioca Bowls.  What a blast!!!  I didn’t know what I was doing but the dogs knew exactly what to do. It was amazing to witness the joy and love between the dogs and their humans. My favorite part was savasana. As the humans calmed, the dogs settled in and we all felt the oneness of yoga.

Then The Party moved to The Filling Station Pet Supplies and we partied hard!!!  Watching the dogs get their professional pet portraits taken was off-the-charts adorable and hilarious. The raffle items were a HUGE hit and we had some big winners!  We had some fierce competition as folks voted on their favorite dog/owner look-alike photo. Humans and dogs ate wieners, doggie cupcakes and a dog or two took a swim in the kiddy pool 🙂

The day was full of LOVE.  What more could I have asked for. I can’t wait to do it all again next year.
