This event will celebrate our beloved furry friends while raising money to help dogs in need. With YOUR help, last year we raised $3500 for the Dogs!!!  Help us reach this year's goal  of $5000 and make this year's Boneanza even more amazing!!! All proceeds will go to Family Dogs New Life Shelter, a no-kill 501 c3 non-profit in SE Portland supported solely by adoption fees and donations from the public. Is a primarily meat diet environmentally sustainable? Is pet food heavily regulated or even regulated at all? Why are canine cancer rates sky rocketing in America? Find out the answers to all this and more! Billy Hoekman is the Nutrition Science Director for Answers Pet Food. He is involved in formulation, research, product development, working with farms, and science education. He in charge of Answers Executive Veterinary Program and specializes in developing diets that pertain to specific disease conditions. He attends yearly AAFCO meetings and participates frequently in expert panels, and routinely speaks around the country in venues ranging from universities to public libraries. He also serves on the board of directors for the Royal Animal Health University and is frequently published in Dogs Naturally Magazine. He is a proud member of the Weston A. Price Foundation and lives in Philadelphia with his wife Emily and their dog Lua.

This year the beach is showing the wear of too much summer beach activity and not enough personal responsibility around trash collection. Join us for a fun morning of community service and beach strolling as we spend a couple of hours picking up the summer trash and re-beautifying this special place.
